In recent years, the Year 6 children have enjoyed successful and memorable residential visits and this year we are proposing a similar experience for your children. The visit will be organised and led by the same company as previous years, Thrills and Skills for Life.
Having already worked with Chris Hall, the founder of Thrills and Skills on several occasions, I am excited at the prospect of children in Year 6 being able to experience his well planned and challenging activities whilst developing team building skills in a new environment. These are skills which will benefit the children for the future.
Chris believes that learning and adventure should be safe, fun, inclusive and at the level suitable for children of all abilities, so our children will be encouraged to challenge themselves and develop and achieve success in a wide range of new skills. Chris works with groups of children and adults throughout the country and will organise and adapt activities specifically for our Y6 children.
Accommodation will be provided at Whinshields farm, Twice Brewed (near Hadrian’s Wall) in Northumberland. Children will require a sleeping bag, outdoor waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. Throughout the week, activities will include canoeing, abseiling, climbing, hill walking, navigation exercises and problem-solving tasks. A full kit list of equipment needed will be sent out in May.
We have provisionally booked a visit for three nights and four days, leaving Sedgefield Hardwick on Monday June 10th2019 and returning on Thursday 13thJune 2019. The cost of this activity will include all food, accommodation and transport, and will be priced at £200 per child.
