We are an ‘Outstanding’ (OFSTED November 2017) Nursery and Primary School situated in the heart of the historic town of Sedgefield, County Durham. We provide a stimulating and exciting educational experience for 2-11 year olds.
Sedgefield Hardwick is a learning community which evolves and changes. We believe that education is about expanding our expectations and building on firm foundations. It is critical for our success that every learner is well equipped with a balance of social, moral and academic skills.
The school council will be delighted to talk to you about what it is like to be a pupil in our school.
The pupils are wonderful ambassadors for their school. Their pride in the school shines brightly in all that they do. Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They take on roles of responsibility willingly and carry them out enthusiastically. They have developed a thirst for knowledge and a determination to succeed.

We have excellent staff who are committed to providing unique, stimulating and interesting learning opportunities which motivate our learners to apply their skills. For us, the true measure of successful learning is how well we are able to use our creativity in self-directed situations. At Sedgefield Hardwick we all have a part to play in shaping the future and we are all valued, respected and heard.
Pupils are taught how to be independent and curious learners from entry into the early years. Their thinking and reasoning skills are highly developed because that is what the school expects of them. Ofsted 2017
